What to do about Facebook group members who block admins
Group members will block you and other admins/mods. Don’t tolerate it. Make sure it is clear in your group rules that people who block the admin or the sponsoring Facebook page will be removed (then, remove them right away.)
How to see blocked members:
Facebook lets you see unavailable members. Unfortunately, currently there is no way to decipher between a member who has blocked you and a member who has simply deactivated their Facebook account.
In your group, click on members:
Scroll down to see unavailable members. Click on the kebab menu to the right of each member and select “Remove Member.”
Other than a power trip, if the member isn’t causing any issues in the group, why should I care they blocked me? Seems petty.
How would you get in touch with them if you needed to, if you’re blocked? (Unless that doesn’t matter in your group….)
You can block an admin but in that group it won’t affect the Admins ability to see posts in that group. The admin can still see posts and respond to the posts, just can’t PM.
from my own experience as group creator/adm on one of our adm blocked all other adms when appointed to adm we could not see said person activity in group but we could see that she was adm status we tried to lower status but it could not be because Facebook allows members to block adm. I have asked that that be changed because it is not working correctly adm must be about to see all activities by everyone in group period. It’s not petty, they are exempting themselves from moderation so they can do as they please in your group – how convenient. Nobody needs to explain themselves to me as far as their reason for blocking – it’s none of my business really – just know that block button is also a “..and leave this group” button here.
